It's made of very tightly woven grass, packed tight so it's sturdy and long lasting. No natural material will last forever in the rigors of garden life, but if it's well made like the Hampton Basket, it'll last quite a while. This basket is reinforced with a metal frame, and it comes with a durable metal chain and hanging hook. It'll come ready to plant with a plastic lining, but we know everyone's got their own preferences for liners. You can replace the plastic with coir if you please, or if you'd rather the water drip and drain out of the bottom, you can take the plastic out entirely.
